All older iMac Models We Upgrade and Service

2012 iMacs The Late 2012 models (A1418 and A1419) were the first thin ones without DVD drives. Still see loads of these. Common problem? Hard drives dying. But throw in an SSD and they run brilliant.

2013 Models Pretty much same as 2012 but with Haswell processors. Model numbers still A1418 (21.5″) and A1419 (27″). These are solid machines when working properly.

2014 – The First Retina Late 2014 brought the first 5K Retina display on the 27″ (still A1419 but now iMac15,1). Gorgeous screen. Sometimes they develop issues though.

2015 Models 2015 gave us Retina 4K on the smaller 21.5″ model. Both sizes still use same model numbers – A1418 and A1419. Just different inside.

2017 Range Kaby Lake processors in these ones. The 21.5″ and 27″ keep the same model numbers. But then there’s the iMac Pro (A1862) in Space Gray. Beast of a machine.

2019 Updates New model numbers finally! A2116 for 21.5″ Retina 4K and A2115 for 27″ Retina 5K. Coffee Lake processors. Pretty reliable actually.

Common Problems We Fix

Hard Drive Failures Especially on 2012-2015 models. Those mechanical drives just wear out. We replace with SSDs – way faster and more reliable.

Screen Issues Retina displays are beautiful but can develop problems. Lines on screen, flickering, image retention. We fix all of it.

Slow Performance Your 2013 iMac taking forever to boot? Probably the hard drive. Sometimes just needs a clean install of macOS. We sort it out.

Won’t Turn On Power supply issues common on older models. Sometimes logic board problems. Either way we diagnose properly.

Running Hot Fans going crazy? iMac shutting down? Dust buildup is usually the culprit. We clean them out, replace thermal paste if needed.
